The Flick starts as a gentle tingle under the pads and climbs, one of twenty-four intensity steps at a time, into a deep electric throb you can feel from the inside out. Its party trick is motion: flick or shake the little control box and the stimulation answers in rhythm, so a stroke, a thrust or a mock spank lands as a pulse rather than a pre-set pattern.

Seven built-in programs cover continuous current, waves, pulses and escalating patterns, all read off a soft-touch keypad with an LED display and a low-battery indicator. It is a single-output box, so it drives up to two uni-polar electrodes or one bi-polar accessory at a time - worth checking against the electrode you plan to pair with it.

The pack arrives ready to play with four self-adhesive uni-polar ElectraPads, a 2mm pin connecting cable, a USB charging cable, a storage pouch and instructions. The unit is slim and pocketable at about 3.7 by 2.3 by 0.6 inches, recharges over USB for roughly four to six hours of use per charge, and carries a 12-month warranty.

Keep contact below the waist when you share sensations, wipe the control box down with a dry or barely damp cloth rather than rinsing it, and store it in the pouch between sessions. With the gentlest settings and generous intensity headroom, it is an easy first stimulator and still has room to grow with you.
